Major General Aeronautical Engineer Mr. Armando Díaz Bruguera.

Director of Engineering and Infrastructures of the Spanish Air and Space Force

Sustainability is one of the essential paradigms of all industrial activity. This necessity is particularly relevant in the Air and Space Force, which has been committed to environmental protection and the improvement of its environmental performance for more than a decade, being the first air force to obtain a 14001 certification as a whole and 50001 certification in its main logistic units. The use of new energy technologies must be applied to all of the Air Force’s activities, including the flight of its aircraft, through the use of new sustainable fuels which enable the reduction of its carbon footprint whilst maintaining its operational capacities. This round table presents the main aerospace sustainability initiatives and analyses the challenges these pose.
